it's happening again...
...i'm neglecting my blog. Since I only have 1 reader, I think she'll forgive me! Not much has been going on around here lately. Work is busy, as always. We've now started our 2nd 9 weeks. I love my kids to death, I really do...but they WEAR...ME...OUT! I just want to crash every day when I get home! For the last 2 Mondays & all the rest until the beginning of December, I'm taking a First Responder course. It will give me all of the basic information that I need to respond to any non-fire related calls, just without going as in depth as they do for EMT school. So guess what I'll be doing when I finish this post...STUDYING...yay (not!) I actually enjoy the class, but I do not enjoy getting home so late & still having several things to do...especially since the next day at work is our long day! BUT, I promised I wouldn't complain a lot on here...
A few months ago we got a kitten. Yes, my husband & I, the NON-animal lovers, got a kitten. The ultimate goal was to put the kitten outside once it got big enough to defend itself so it could protect US from unwanted creatures! So, we welcomed Baxter into our home. He very quickly wore out his welcome, but we kept him inside as agreed until he was big enough. He got his shots & his boy parts taken care of ASAP. He started getting himself into a lot more trouble, so I told the hubs that he needed his Rabies shot the NEXT day so he could enter his new reality ASAP. He's been our "outside cat" now for about 4 1/2 days & he's done pretty well! Our friends came over Monday night for some grilling & bday cake (for Reese's bday) & I guess it was kind of a send-off party for Baxter too, because that was his first night outside!
One last thing, I want to encourage EVERYONE to go see Courageous! We saw it on opening night with lots of people from our church & we all loved it. We went to dinner with our Sunday School class last night, then to see the movie again as a group! It's gotta be good if I'm gonna pay to see it twice! So, GO SEE IT! Make it a date night!
until later (or maybe sooner)

Three blind mice
Today started Spirit Week @ school. I have to say, the 6th grade team ROCKS! We are a team of 3 ladies & 1 dude. We work together amazingly well & they make me laugh & encourage me every day! So, today was Double/Group Day. We the help of a brilliant suggestion from one of my mentor's during college, we dressed as the Three Blind Mice! (PHOTO BELOW)
After a long spirit-filled day at work, Student Council meeting, a sickly afternoon, trip to Wal-Mart & some muffin baking...I'm thinking it's time for BED. Oh & next time I go to Wal-Mart, I might wear a wig...
Til next time!

A new start...
Well, I've blogged before & I sucked at it. Now that I'm all grown up & married, I've decided to rejoin the blogging world & start posting instead of just stalking my friends blogs! For those of you that may not know anything about me...here's a short summary...
...born & raised in Byram, MS...
...I graduated from THS in 2004 - 04 fo sho!...
...went to Hinds, turned it into a 4 year college...
...moved to Starkville to attend MUW...
...met some awesome people & partied my socks off (in a mild kinda way!) with them...
...graduated in 2010 & sadly moved away from God's country...
...in the midst of all of that, lost all hope of finding "the one"...
...my crazy friend & her crazier friend introduced me to a Wrangler-wearing country boy...
...that Wrangler-wearing country boy (who now sports Levi's, & looks might fine in 'em!) swept me off my feet...
...met in September (one year ago yesterday, in fact), "official" in November, engaged by Christmas, married in March...
People always look at me crazy when I tell them how we met & married. My reply is always 2 simple statements... "When you know, you know" & "Why wait?!"
This is my 2nd year teaching for Hinds County - last year was 2nd grade, this year it's 6th. Big jump, I know. Each age has good & bad, & some days I may come home screaming "I'm not going back to that place!," but I love my kids! (& we'd be living in the camper if I quit...) I freaking love Eric Church, mexican food, MISSISSIPPI STATE, wine, fried rice, my cuh cuh, planners...& I do not love constant complaining (DISCLAIMER - yes, I will complain on this blog. I'm human. But every word out of my mouth will not be a complaint.), mayonaisse, lonliness, bright light, loud noises, Ole Miss, people talking when others are talking...
Andrew is a firefighter - & a pretty darn good one at that! I've never seen someone with so much passion for something! When he's not on shift, he's running every call he can for the volunteer department (also another thing I NEVER saw myself doing...& guess who has a pager now!). Even though he rolls his eyes a lot at my silly OCD requests, he treats me like a queen. Because of him, I've forgotten how to make my coffee. We make a pretty sweet team in the kitchen & we never stop laughing!
Oh & it's not just the 2 of us living here. There's also Baxter. Now anyone that knows us knows that we are NOT cat people, or animal people at that. But we are also not mouse people, & Baxter is a solution to that. The dude's cuddly & sweet one minute, then on thin ice with mama the next. (Like when I found a KITTY-POO covered bathroom yesterday!) Little does he know that as each day passes, he's closer to packing his things & moving to his new outdoor home to protect mama & daddy from the enemy. Once he's outside, there won't be another living/breathing/gotta feed/gotta clean "being" in this house for a while! No more pets for us, & no plans for bebe's anytime in the near future! So that should answer your first question for us! :)
Well, I think I've given you a small glimpse into our lives...
Now it's time for bed so I can get up bright & early & suit up in my mouse costume (it's Homecoming week!)
Til next time...
